SafeKids360

Frequently asked questions

Answers to common questions about parental controls, child location tracking, screen time limits, and keeping kids safe online.

Getting started

How does SafeKids360 work?

You install the SafeKids360 parent app, and your child installs the AlvaKids app on their phone. They link via a 6-digit pairing code. After that you see location, screen time, and manage apps from your phone.

What ages is it for?

Ages 4 to 17. When you add a child you choose an age group, and age-appropriate presets are suggested automatically.

Is the app free?

Core features are free, including pairing, daily screen-time limits, tasks and rewards, SOS, ring my child's phone, and the daily report. Premium unlocks features like live location, route history, schedules, web and YouTube history, app blocking, and weekly reports.

How do I get support?

Open Settings > Get help in the parent app to chat with our team, or email support@safekids.uz. You can also call us on +998 95 980 15 49.

Pairing

How do I pair my child's phone?

In the parent app, tap Add child to get a 6-digit code. Install AlvaKids on the child's device, tap "I have a pairing code", and enter the 6 digits.

The code expired — what now?

Generate a new one from the parent app. Pairing codes expire after 15 minutes for security.

How do I re-pair a device?

Open the Family settings screen in the parent app, choose the child, and start a new pairing. A fresh 6-digit code is created for that device.

Features

How does app blocking work?

Each app sits in one of three buckets: Always Available (no limit), Entertainment Limit (counts against the daily screen-time pool, with an optional per-app cap), or Always Blocked. Moving an app to Always Blocked is a Premium feature; moving it back to Always Available is always free.

Can I filter websites?

Yes. You can block websites by pattern in a denylist, or turn on whitelist mode to allow only the sites you approve. Blocked pages are stopped on the child's device.

What are safe zones?

Safe zones are circular geofences you draw on a map, such as home or school, each with a name and radius. You can turn on arrival and departure alerts per zone so you know when your child enters or leaves.

Can I see browser and YouTube history?

Yes, both the Browser and YouTube history tabs are Premium features. Note that on YouTube, Shorts do not expose a title, so time spent only on Shorts may not appear in the list.

What are brain-training games?

AlvaKids includes Math and Sudoku brain-training games, and completing levels earns extra screen-time minutes for your child. This is separate from the tasks you assign as a parent.

Can I ring my child's phone?

Yes. From the map you can ring the device, and it plays the alarm sound at maximum volume even if the phone is silenced. The ringing stops automatically after about 30 seconds or when your child taps Stop.

What do tasks and rewards do?

You create tasks with a screen-time reward, and when your child marks one done it waits for your review. Once you approve it, the reward minutes are added to that day's allowance.

Reports

What is the difference between daily and weekly reports?

The daily report summarizes one day's screen time, top apps, tasks, and alerts, and it is free. The weekly report gives a 7-day breakdown and is a Premium feature.

Permissions

Why so many permissions?

Location is for the map, Autostart keeps the app running after a reboot, Usage Access counts screen time, and Accessibility powers app blocking and web history. None of this data is sold or shared.

App doesn't work on Xiaomi/Samsung/Oppo.

These brands require manual autostart setup so the app is not killed in the background. See the relevant tutorial: xiaomi-autostart-setup, samsung-autostart-setup, or oppo-autostart-setup.

Compatibility

Which Android version do I need?

Both apps require Android 10 or higher. The kid device also needs GPS, Usage Access, overlay permission, and Accessibility enabled to work fully.

Is there an iPhone (iOS) version?

Not yet. SafeKids360 is available for Android only, through Google Play.

Does it work without internet?

The parent app shows the last data it cached when offline, but live updates such as fresh location need a connection on both phones. The child's device needs internet to send new location, screen time, and alerts.

Will it drain the battery?

The kid app uses a motion-adaptive location cadence, updating more often only while the device is moving, to limit battery use. For reliable background operation the child's device should have battery set to unrestricted.

Privacy

Can you read my child's messages or calls?

No. SafeKids360 does not read messages, monitor calls or SMS, capture notifications, or record audio. We only collect data like screen time, app names, location, and web history where enabled.

Where is my data stored?

Your data is held on our secured Firebase and PostgreSQL servers. It is never sold or shared with third parties.

What happens if my child uninstalls the app or turns the phone off?

SafeKids360 sends you security alerts for events such as an uninstall attempt, device admin being disabled, or airplane mode being turned on. When the phone is off or offline you simply see the last known data until it reconnects.

Billing

What does Premium include and is there a trial?

Premium unlocks features such as live location, route history, schedules, browser and YouTube history, app blocking, and weekly reports. Every family starts with a 14-day free trial that gives full Premium access. Pricing is shown in the app.

How do I cancel Premium?

You can cancel from Settings > Subscription in the parent app. Your Premium features stay active until the end of the period you already paid for; cancelling just stops it from renewing.

How do promo codes work?

Open Settings and enter a promo code in the parent app. A valid days code restores Premium access immediately, while a discount code is applied to a future purchase.

How many children can I add?

Premium supports multiple children, while the free plan is intended for one. Each child gets their own pairing code, settings, and dashboard.

Account

How do I delete my data or account?

Open Settings > My Account > Delete account in the parent app, confirm your identity, and your account and data are removed. This action is permanent.

Troubleshooting

I can't see the location.

Check that GPS is on and that SafeKids360 has the Always allow location permission on the kid's device. On some phones you also need autostart and unrestricted battery so the app keeps reporting.
